Online Gaming

Just because I spend all day in front of a computer does not mean I can't do the same in the evenings. My weakness is for First Person Shooters, my strength is I kick A%$£ at it. Sadly that's not because I'm some kind of virtual Rambo or Terminator, just that I spend a lot time practising and a lot of money keeping up with the latest (and fastest) hardware. It would have been nice to feed the kids last night - but you can't have everything.

Over the years I've played all the Unreal games, the Quake games and most other similar games along the way. My favourite at the moment has just got to be Team Fortress 2.

You can't play these games unless you've bought the software, and then only if you've got a very fast machine, but here a few links so you can see what they look like...

If you ever do play any of these games, look out for me. My online username is eTHoTHs so if you see me say Hi.

I Wanna be a Rockstar

I finally decided after many many years of air guitar (and a couple of tries on Guitar Hero) that if I'm going to ever be a Rockstar then I should get started. Well, I got started. I really enjoy it but the problem is I'm not good enough that anybody else enjoys is too. Oh well, I'm not giving up just yet. One day I might even be able to play a whole song!

Movies

To relax I like to watch the occasional movie. Of course I have a large plasma screen, 7.1 surround sound, a blue ray player, media centre PC and leather recliners. Who doesn’t nowadays? My problem is I bought most of that stuff when it was really expensive; perhaps there's a lesson to be learned there? Anyway, below is a list of some of my all time favourites. So, in no particular order...

I like all of the movies listed above but not all for the same reasons. Some I just thought made a point, others because I thought the story was well executed. In each case the movie listed stands out from the crowd in a way that stayed with me more than a mediocre movie would have.

Golf

I like to play around every now and then but I get a bit nervous with the family watching. Anyway, here are a few links to my favourite courses...

Scuba Diving

It's been a few years now since I qualified as Dive Leader. Nearly as long since I've had a DV in my mouth - but that's life with small children. I sold nearly all my equipment years ago but I've kept my octopus rig and dive computer - just in case.

Paragliding

I did this a couple of times. It was fun right up to the point when I realised just how insanely dangerous it is. Still, I'm just mad enough to do it again so I'll keep these links for something to reminisce about.

Round The World Adventure Motorcycling

Charlie and McEwan did it. I've got the bike so I can do it too. The Plan: Tomorrow morning I need to turn right on the M32 and see where I end up. That's it then, tomorrow it is...

Here are a couple of links to whet your appetite..

Mirco-Controller Development

As if I did not mess about with computers enough. In my spare time I like to design and develop micro-controller based devices. Here are a few links to the stuff I'm playing with at the moment...
